Roy C. Dickerson, 63, former funeral director at Wingate, died at 12:15 p.m. at the Stoker Nursing Home on RFD 2, Frankfort. At the time of his death he was a funeral director at Stockwell. Born Dec 15, 1889, in Arlington, he was married on Aug 3, 1911 to Lula Crane at Crawfordsville. Mrs. Dickerson survives. He was a member of the Stockwell Methodist Church, the Mercer Lodge R&AM, No 633, Wingate, Phi Delta Theta social fraternity, and Phi Rho honorary medical fraternity. Mr. Dickerson was graduated from Wingate High School in 1908. Subsequently he attended DePauw University and Indiana University Medical School. He was graduated from the Askin School of Embalming in Indianapolis. Survivors in addition to the widow, include three sons, John , at home, and Raymond and Kenneth, who is basketball coach at West Point High School, both of Stockwell two daughters, Mrs. Russell Clark, Liberty Center, and Mrs. Edward Cook, Noblesville and 11 grandchildren. Mr. Dickerson was funeral director at Wingate from 1925 to 1934, when he went to Stockwell to open a similar business. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at the Stockwell Methodist Church by the Rev. W.C. Evers. Burial will be in the Meharry Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the Dickerson funeral Home in Stockwell after noon Thursday. - kbz
